Learn to Row Training
In the spring and the fall, the Beaufort Rowing Club offers a Learn to Row training program for anyone interested in trying out rowing.
The Learn to Row training program entails a series of five (5) classes, typically conducted on successive Saturday mornings. Attendance is required for at least four of the five sessions to join the BRC. Each session runs 60-90 minutes. During that time, experienced Club members will offer instruction and guidance on how to row, to include equipment, safety, proper form, critiques of effort, and encouragement to help new rowers become comfortable enough to join a crew of experienced rowers in the boat.
Once you have completed Learn to Row, you’re welcome to join the club as a regular member! The only prerequisites for becoming a member are:
- 1 – The ability to successfully pass a basic swim test (conducted through the Club at the YMCA)
- 2 – Payment of an annual membership fee
- 3 – Regular attendance at weekly club practices
If you’re interested in joining us for our next Learn to Row session, please reach out through the Contact Us page or email Joyce Glover at beaufortjg at gmail dot com to get on the list for the next session!
